Tragic Quake in Chile

Everyone at Neruda Productions is in shock following the massive quake that has paralyzed Chile and is affecting countries around the Pacific. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Chile, the families and friends of those in the crisis zones.

Going to the Moon accepted at Local Film Fest

Going to the Moon

Neruda Productions’ Going to the Moon has been accepted for a screening at The Multicultural Cinema Club’s Local Focus 3 Film Festival (March 18-21, 2010).

Going to the Moon is a film produced by Neruda volunteers about experiences in cultural exchange.

The Local Focus 3 Film Festival includes both jury awards and People’s Choice awards.

It would be great if you came out to see some or all of the 28 films in this year’s festival and vote for your favorite films (maybe even Going to the Moon!).

Café for Haiti

Café for Haiti - Relief Benefit Concert

Neruda Productions is holding a benefit concert Café for Haiti in response to the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti.

This night of solidarity with Haiti is taking place Tuesday, February 9th, 2010, 6 pm at The Button Factory (Waterloo Community Arts Center). There will be music by several Neruda artists, including Nafoyo. Every person who makes a donation will receive a CD of Neruda music.

Seating is limited to 100! Come join us for a very special night of reaching out to those who need it the most, while supporting arts and culture in Waterloo.

Neruda Productions is presenting it’s final show of the year: Café Cabaret Intimo. This intimate performance features a very diverse group of 12 young performers in a comfortable and interactive setting. The group includes artists from Kenya, India, Chile, Burma, and Canada all living in the K-W region and all between the ages of 14 and 25. It will be an exclusive night including diverse food and drink combined with a unique soundscape that will come to a close with a performance from the Puerto Waterloo Jazz Ensemble.

There are only 100 tickets available for this intimate performance, they are available at Earth Winds, Eco-Café or at the Button Factory (10-4)

On Tuesday July 14th see Zapati-jazz at Caesar Martinis ( 140 University av. Waterloo) 9PM

On Friday July 17th see Zapati-jazz at the Uptown Jazz Festival ( Regina and willis way) 7PM

On Monday July 20th is the farewell concert for Zapati-jazz. They will be performing in the Waterloo Theatre @8:00PM so make sure you buy your tickets to guarantee your spot! Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door and $20 ticket + cd included in advanced. Tickets will be available at Earthwinds in Waterloo (519 746-0737) or at the door. Come and experience live salsa jazz music, it will have you dancing in your seat!
